Slowcooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Prep: 15 minutes, plus slowcooking
Yield: 4 Servings

3 lbs potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped cooked ham
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Place potatoes in slow cooker. Mix cheese with ham. Mix with potatoes. Mix together soup and water. Add garlic powder and spices to taste. Pour over potato mixture. Cover, cook on high 4 hours.

This can also be cooked in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 ½ hours.

Tips & Tricks:
Make sure those potatoes are sliced thinner than thin or you will have uncooked potatoes in this dish. Frozen diced hashbrown potatoes can be used in place of fresh.

This sounds really good!

Quick question, do you have a favorite brand/choice of cooked ham? Baked, boiled, what have you, what works best in these types of dishes? Thanks, Jen

To be honest, I usually use lunch meat ham that needs to be used up before it expires. I'm not a great ham connessiour (can't even spell that word :D ) maybe someone else knows something about ham?

These were so yummy! I made a few minor modifications based on what I had on hand by substituting smoked sausage for the ham, diced onion instead of garlic and used one can of cream of celery soup instead of two chicken. The house smelled so good when we got home and even my 1-year-old daughter liked them. :-)
